That might be a bit extreme but, I have to believe this is a close second! Man do I feel good this morning, I just came off a great work out, I am super focused and really energized. Not even the best pre-workout supps get me going and engaged like coffee and ketones.
I am sure by now you have heard of keto coffee (some people call it bulletproof coffee) but in case you have not, it is essentially butter and/or coconut oil “blended” together with your favorite coffee. If you think this sounds super weird, it’s because it is..
At one point I can remember saying there is no way I will ever put butter in my coffee.. look at me now, it’s a staple in my daily routine, I legitimately brew this every day.
As weird as this may sound, keto coffee sets the tone of my day in terms of eating, If I can get a good fat laden cup of keto coffee it really helps keep my hunger at bay, and eating less is something I have always struggled with. From my experience adding the ketones just amplifies the hunger suppressant.
Everybody brews their special batch differently but my go-to combo is:
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1/2 tbsp heavy cream
- 3/4th scoop Perfect Keto Base Chocolate Sea Salt (New addition)
It’s worth mentioning that you can get super creative with this too. On occasion I’ll add cinnamon, vanilla extract, stevia, unsweetened coco powder and even a nut butter. Get wild with it, test some things out and find what you like best.
The thing to know about making this delicious little coffee treat it is you must blend it, stirring it will not necessarily work. The consistency will be off and you’ll see the oils floating around if you only stir it. So be sure to blend it. I use a Nutrabullet but any blender will do.
I am fully convinced that coming off a night time fast and only having keto coffee and exogenous ketones Is one of the best ways to get your day started or fuel a fasted work out. Keep in mind when you first wake up you are a fat burning furnace so incorporating ketones while in that state is pretty powerful in terms of using fat for energy.
The other aspect that is really noticeable is your ability to focus. This morning for instance, there was no sluggish start to my day, I sat down at my desk about 20 minutes to 7:00 and dove right into my work flow, by the time I looked up it was 11:00 and I had been awake for 6 hours but yet to eat breakfast. So take advantage of that window.
KetoTip #335–If you are coming off a carb day or fell out of ketosis, incorporating exogenous ketones, and caffeine along with a morning fasted cardio session OR a full on weight training session can get you back on track to reaching ketosis quicker. Of course, this is dependent on the person & how far off the deep end that person may have went consuming carbs, but generally speaking it can take up upwards of 500+ carbohydrates to refill glycogen stores.
So one of the best things you can do after falling out of ketosis is to get some sort of exercise in.
If you are living that keto based lifestyle and haven’t dabbled in exogenous ketones yet, they are totally worth incorporating into your daily supplementation, especially if you have some sort of fat loss goal in mind.
I was not always a believer but I am now
After using Perfect Keto Base over the last few weeks I can see why other’s love this
If I am specifically trying to drop a few extra pounds I work them into my weight loss supplementation and take 1-2 times a day. otherwise I do like to keep them around as an afternoon pick me up or as a pre-workout supplement.
